Requests for Information

July 2008
Hello,

Ralph McNeal served in the 376th.  He was my first cousin.  Today I found an inquiry made to the 376th group, dated July 8, 2003 on Yahoo from Ralph's son-in-law, James E. Whitney.  I have been trying to find Ralph's daughter, Deborah McNeal Whitney for several years.  I thought I'd found her through this inquiry, but the email addresses on the Yahoo page are no longer valid.

If you have an address for Ralph's widow, Betty McNeal, who from the note on Yahoo indicated that she lives with her daughter and son-in-law.  They were originally from Kansas City, or Parkville, Missouri, would you be able to put me in touch with them?

We recently found some letters Ralph wrote to my older sister (his younger cousin) while he was in the service, and we want his daughter to have these precious letters --- they are funny and so dear.

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Suzanna Penn

June 2004

I am attempting to locate a crew photograph or other photographs depicting Lt. Richard Durbin who served with the 514th Squadron of the 376th Bomb Group as a pilot during the period March, 1944, through August, 1944. I currently possess many personal items relating to Lt. Durbin including his 201 File, logbook, tunic and medals, however, the collection is devoid of any photographs other than a single portrait photograph taken sometime after he received his wings in 1943. Any help you could provide me would be greatly appreciated and I would be more than happy to reimburse you for any costs of reproduction, processing or postage. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Michael J. Belles

As the Grants Administrator for the City of Hammond, LA, I am inquiring about the location, and acquisition by donation of a vintage WWI aircraft for a static display. The Hammond airport has been designated as a historical airport since the US Army used it as a training base during WWII. I have been asked to locate and arrange for the delivery of such a craft. If you know of an available craft suitable for this purpose, please contact me at 985-543-3228, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. I am interested in talking to anyone who can assist me in this project.

April 2004

I am looking for information on a former member of this unit. His name is Virgil Conway and he was shot down and taken prisoner on or about 10 Aug 1944. He remembers that he was in the 376th HBG but can't remember the squadron or plane. He is a friend and I am trying to help him, as he had a stroke a few years ago and has a hard time with things. Thank you for any help you can give.
